Founded in 2022 in Munich, ZeroEx is dedicated to scaling enhanced weathering globally and delivering the highest-quality carbon credits on the market.

From problem to solution
Having worked on multiple startups before, Tony and Hannes knew they wanted their next venture to fill the demand for high-quality, high-permanence carbon removal credits. Conducting enhanced rock weathering in Germany seemed like the perfect way to use local resources while providing co-benefits to rural communities. Using their backgrounds in science and business, they set out to address the biggest obstacle to scaling ERW: measurement.
Where it all came together
Since then, they’ve built a dynamic team of researchers and agriculture experts dedicated to scaling ERW with a high level of scientific rigor, both in Germany and around the world.
ZeroEx staff members conduct research trials, coordinate with farmers and quarries, collaborate with academic institutions and companies globally, and work with carbon markets and registries to make ERW commercially scalable.
